Get honest feedback on your resume

Your friends know you too well. A recruiter may only give it ten seconds.

What to bring — three things

01 / 03

HOW THE HALF HOUR GOES

Cold read, then edits.

  1. Ten silent seconds

They read it the way a recruiter would and tell you what they took away. It usually isn't what you meant.

  2. Then the walkthrough

Line by line where you want it. What reads as a real accomplishment, and what reads as a job description.

  3. You argue back

Half of the feedback will be wrong for your situation. Saying why out loud is how you find the words you were missing.

What you walk away with

You leave with edits you actually agree with.

Not a rewrite from someone who has never met you — a short list of changes you can make tonight.

Questions about resume sessions.

ALL THE QUESTIONS →

Is this a professional resume review?

Sometimes. Some feedback givers hire for a living, some are just a sharp stranger with fresh eyes. Both catch things you stopped seeing months ago. Say if you need a recruiter specifically and we'll try.

How can I get unbiased feedback on my resume?

Show it to someone who has never met you. Friends already know your story, so they read what you meant instead of what's on the page. A stranger on a free 30-minute call will tell you what they think you do after ten seconds — which is the only read that matters.

Why not just ask a friend to look at it?

Because they like you, and they already know what you do. That combination produces encouragement, not a cold read. Honest feedback on a resume has to come from someone who would otherwise keep scrolling.

Do I have to send my resume in advance?

No. Most people share their screen on the call. If you'd rather send a link when you book, that works too.

Is my resume stored or shared anywhere?

No. Nothing is recorded, nothing is kept, and first names are all either of you gets.

Can I bring my LinkedIn profile instead?

Yes. Same call, same 30 minutes. A profile gets read the same way a resume does — fast, by someone deciding whether to keep reading.

Someone in the next open slot has never heard of you.

They will tell you exactly what your resume says. Not what you hoped it said.
